My part of the world has officially welcomed fall as of this week, with the weather finally made up its mind to stop switching between hot and freezing cold. Wherever you are, I hope you have been well this week, amidst the second wave of COVID-19 and the election stress if you live in the U.S.
Checking In With You
Self care is not selfishAnonymous
This week has been difficult, between stress and constant anxiety of the election. I finally sat down to journal my thoughts, and I couldn’t stop writing for a few minutes straight. It was comforting to see everything on paper rather than floating around in my head. So if you are reading this and feeling anxiety, you are not alone. Please remember to give yourself a breather and rest, because it is 2020 and we all need to be gentle with ourselves.
So I have a confession to make, my inspiration to blog is nowhere to be found. Most of my recent blogs usually take days to finish because I have to organize my thoughts and edit them correctly. But since Sunday, I have been checking on my brain to see if there are any content inspirations and she said “NO!”.
Long story short, my brain is angry with me for being overworked and stressed from the current climate, work, and I’m not making the situation any better by badgering her to give me content.
The Bare Minimum
I have been trying out a new technique to keep myself in check based on my energy level. I learned this technique from Rowena Tsai, and she has great content on self-improvement. Plus she also call her viewers Sweet Potatoes, how cute is that!
The basis of this technique begins with understanding the type of activities that drain your energy and the ones that give you energy. I have been tracking myself throughout the day and most of my stressors have been work, my dogs, and being on social media.
Some activities that I have been doing to bring my energy up when feeling low include reading, journaling, exercising, and talking to friends. Most of these are things that I have been doing anyway, but I’ve started to become much more intentional about providing myself that relief. I tried to keep it to a few activities rather than doing a handful of different ones, check out my blog on different self-care activities to find the best one for you.
Thank you so much for reading to the end, I know it is a different format than what most of you guys are used to. This type of format was what I started out with since it reminds me of writing in my journal, plus I have the chance to be more personal with you. I will be on vacation next week, so I’m hoping to have some new travel contents for you all. I hope that you will have a great weekend, remember to take care of yourself because you deserves it.
