Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays. All the cute heart decorations, pink and red colors, chocolate and flowers are a few of my favorite things. Although it is mostly meant for couples, we don’t always have to spend it with our significant others, those who are single or in long distance relationships. Galentine’s Day is here to save the day as it is a perfect occasion to grab your girlfriends and have a get-together ♥♥♥ .
Why spend Valentine’s alone or wishing that it was over so you can get all the discount chocolate when you can spend it with your gals? Here are some ideas for your GALENTINE!
I recently tried aerial silk and it was quite a workout but super rewarding. Working out with friends can help you stay motivated and committed to your goals. When I did it for the first time, I went with my friend and we were supporting each other through difficult stretches (we were both in pain >.>) Check out discount sites like Groupon for deals on classes. If you are booking directly, you may score a good deal for booking as a group.
If aerial silk is not your cup of tea, I recommend finding a fitness class that you all are interested in like cardio kickboxing, hot yoga, or pole fitness. The point is to try something new that you and your friends have never done before.
Who wouldn’t like receiving gifts? Surprising your friends with meaningful gifts is one of the most rewarding feelings EVER. Whether it is a care package filled with chocolate, bath bombs, nail polish, or something on the pricey side. You can find cute gifts with any budgets. I recommend checking out Etsy for unique gifts, or department stores like TJ Max and Marshalls for affordable skin care products, baths products, or candles.
Taking a Road Trip
Plan an overnight trip or a day trip with friends and explore new places are always refreshing. Pick a city that is 1 or 2 hours away and do some research ahead of time for places to visit like coffee shops, brewery or local eateries. Honestly, I think the best part of any road trips is being in the car with friends, endless karaoke sessions, laughter, and conversations.
If your friends are 21+, book a wine tasting session and savor on the varieties of wine your local vineyards have to offer. For me, something about having conversations while sipping on some wine that makes everything more sophisticated and entertaining.
Make sure to have a designated driver or split an Uber. Safety’s first!
Whether it be Nicholas Sparks’s love stories, The Princess Diaries, Bridesmaids, or Pitch Perfect, put together a list of your favorite movies and have a night in with your friends. Enjoy the movies in cozy pajamas and blankets in the comfort of your home. Prepare all of your favorite junk food and drinks. No need for the overpriced movie theatre popcorn and refreshments!
Volunteer at a Local Nonprofit Organization
Give back to the community by volunteering at a local animal shelter, Soup Kitchen, or Food Banks. Valentine’s is all about showing love to the people around you, so why not set some time aside to serve and show some love for your community? Volunteering with your friends will make the experience even more meaningful and memorable.

Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be the only day that you show your loved ones how much they mean to you, but I think it is nice to have a day dedicated to expressing love for the people in our lives. And if you happen to be spending Valentine alone, why not take yourself on a date? You deserve it, show yourself some LOVEEEE ♥♥♥ ! Check out my blog on Date Night for One for my full experience of treating myself with a lovely evening. Happy Galentine’s Day!
